Really strange ah! Got your mail, I only start blog last year, Sept 2008, never an expert, but love to play around with software and applications.

Google blog will be the best for your need.
On "Settings"; go to basic, you can choose if you want your blog or any individual title blog to view by public or only the individule you invited. (By email address)
You can send alert to them, also can choose if it is an adult content or not.
You can also import, export or link 2 or more blogs.
If you have 2 or more blogs, you can choose to display or not to display on your profile, commnets can also choose open or only invited people for each title.......
Play on the settings, you will fine your solution. Have fun.

Speaking of all these, I should import my Windows Space to Google..............
